We included several hints that it was
rallye-erected: the word "Rallye"; the
presence of reflective tape (as an
arrowhead) in accordance with TRC's
policy for rallye-erected
signs; coursemarker BD (in the direction of the
sign's arrow); and coursemarker XX (at
the nonexistant address mentioned
on the sign). Others that received multiple votes were the "HI"
instructions,
"L at Ames" in the story, and the "Ross" CP signature.
We granted the gimmicks K and X to all
cars: a last-minute change to the GIs
broke the hanging SUPP we had
intended. Also, we didn't notice that there
were two AMES signs at Ames and Ross, so we
discarded any "impossible
combination" involving the 5 coursemarkers
at Ames and used the maximum
scoring CM if you had multiple CMs in that
section. FYI, we received one
protest form without a class and car
number. Lastly, some scores changed
slightly since rallye night, as the
computer corrected Dean's by-hand errors.
This moved Novice car #17 to fourth place,
promoting cars 8 and 24..
