And some people listed the same gimmick as both their favorite and least favorite gimmick. Overall, the favorite gimmicks were the Penguin Instructions, especially Rico (blowing up signs and limiting ability to speak). And the least favorite gimmick was Rico. So one thing is for sure: Rico certainly made a lasting impression. * There were two protests granted to a single car only. One was for a CP bookkeeping error: CP 8 (the saying at CP 2) was not signed, even though CP 9 (a gimmick based on the saying at CP 2) was signed. The other was based on whether a sign was government erected, given the "Donated by..." language at the bottom of the sign. * A big THANK YOU to everyone who made this rallye possible: - Jon Beauchamp, Larry Friedrich, Kiyoshi Hamai, and Dave Moen who prechecked; - Kiyoshi Hamai and other members of Golden Gate Lotus Club who worked the checkpoints; - Nick and Teresa Stefanisko, our illustrious awards committee; - Dave Moen, TRC's vice president, who worked registration; and - All of you! We hope to see you again at future rallyes! Darin McGrew, Rallyemaster Michelle McGrew, Assistant Rallyemaster
