Only one team got that one. Not surprisingly, they listed it as their favorite gimmick. * In the questionnaire (TB 1), the gimmicks with the most votes were Hawkeye (especially the extra time around the block at Susan and Lois), Igor (especially the "FIG 1000" CM), and RI 39 on the Supp/SI page. I find it interesting that a gimmick that everyone got (Hawkeye at Susan and Lois) was so popular. A couple teams listed gimmicks that I hadn't intended. One team really surprised me by listing a gimmick that they had missed (CP 2). * In the questionnaire (TB 1), a few rallyists don't like multi-style (A-B/CM) rallyes at all, several love them (some even preferring them to CM rallyes), and the rest like them (although some prefer CM rallyes). * Everyone got B 13 (start CM), Y 1 (on-course CM), 1B ("LEWISTON" on left), 3A (Igor on duty, not Rizzo), CP 1 and CP 5-7 (entering the CP, answering the question, rememering the saying, and handing in score sheet after the saying), 28A (an RI with A & D parts is still valid), Z 1 (on-course CM), 31 A (letters reversed on score sheet), and 36 A (visit Susan & Lois for Hawkeye). * Here is a breakdown of how many teams in each class recorded each of the remaining gimmicks: 1st Beg Nov Sen Ex ME Total L 17 1/1 2/3 5/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 24/26 visit Louise (Hawkeye) CP 2 0/1 0/3 0/6 2/7 1/6 2/3 5/26 execute L by turning right 2 B 0/1 3/3 6/6 6/7 6/6 3/3 24/26 visit Louise again (Hawkeye) 4 B 1/1 1/3 4/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 20/26 T undefined, no street named "T" CP 8 0/1 2/3 6/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 24/26 vehicle is green Willys M38 5 B 0/1 1/3 2/6 2/7 3/6 1/3 9/26 passed sign before street 6 C 0/1 1/3 4/6 4/7 4/6 2/3 15/26 at Cathedral even if on Cathedral 7 B 1/1 3/3 6/6 6/7 6/6 3/3 25/26 visit Cathedral, then do RI 7 late 8 B 0/1 0/3 3/6 4/7 2/6 3/3 12/26 avoid "KINGSGATE" (sign of Flagg) 9 A 0/1 1/3 4/6 6/7 2/6 3/3 16/26 "after" must be "before" (Radar) 10 B 1/1 3/3 5/6 5/7 6/6 3/3 23/26 Kitimat only on left (Burns) 11 A 1/1 0/3 1/6 2/7 2/6 2/3 8/26 Tee referred to named street 12 C 1/1 3/3 4/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 22/26 do C at intersection, not sign GG 18 0/1 1/3 2/6 1/7 0/6 0/3 4/26 bad: double-letter CM invalid K 3 0/1 1/3 5/6 7/7 4/6 3/3 20/26 avoid GG 18 (sign of Flagg) A 33 0/1 1/3 3/6 5/7 5/6 3/3 17/26 avoid GG 18 again (not deleted) 13 A 1/1 3/3 6/6 7/7 5/6 3/3 25/26 "BERNARDO" on left as you passed 14 A 0/1 2/3 6/6 6/7 6/6 3/3 23/26 sign on freeway sound wall 15 B 1/1 1/3 4/6 6/7 6/6 3/3 21/26 visit Baker (Hawkeye) 16 B 1/1 2/3 6/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 25/26 "ELSONA" reads "ELS" (Rizzo) 17 B 1/1 3/3 4/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 22/26 "DOES" reads "DOE" (not "DO") 18 - 0/1 0/3 4/6 4/7 6/6 3/3 17/26 3-part RI is invalid F 26 0/1 0/3 0/6 0/7 0/6 0/3 0/26 partial: R at Tee for Blake 19 B 0/1 2/3 5/6 5/7 6/6 3/3 21/26 full: parallel "YORKTOWN" sign 0/1 0/3 1/6 2/7 0/6 0/3 3/26 impossible combo: F 26 + 19 B 20 A 0/1 1/3 4/6 6/7 4/6 1/3 16/26 Opp requires direction 22 B 0/1 2/3 3/6 2/7 4/6 2/3 13/26 Ticonderoga only on right (Burns) 23 A 0/1 1/3 5/6 5/7 5/6 3/3 19/26 "CRANBERRY" on left as you passed U 37 0/1 0/3 1/6 2/7 0/6 0/3 3/26 bad: must turn to visit Robin X 45 0/1 0/3 0/6 0/7 1/6 0/3 1/26 "ROBIN" identifies Bernardo (Burns) 25 B 0/1 3/3 5/6 5/7 6/6 3/3 22/26 cannot do CS (undefined term) 26 A 0/1 0/2 4/6 5/7 5/6 3/3 17/25 signs on left as you passed I1000 0/1 0/2 0/6 0/7 2/6 2/3 4/25 "FIG AVE 1000" is valid CM (Igor) 27 C 1/1 2/2 3/6 4/7 5/6 2/3 17/25 both first actions could be done M 17 0/1 2/2 6/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 24/25 visit Margaret (Burns) 29 C 0/1 1/2 4/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 19/25 parallel "CARDINAL" sign V 6 0/1 1/2 1/6 1/7 2/6 0/3 5/25 bad: Cardinal (Mulcahy off duty) R 6 1/1 2/2 5/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 22/25 visit Robin (Hawkeye) 30 B 0/1 1/2 6/6 5/7 4/6 3/3 19/25 visit Cardinal before RI 29 32 B 0/1 2/2 5/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 23/25 visit Lois (Hawkeye) 33 A 1/1 1/2 6/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 24/25 cannot turn "on" a sign 34 A 0/1 0/2 4/6 5/7 5/6 3/3 17/25 must do C "at" intersection 35 B 0/1 1/2 2/6 3/7 3/6 3/3 12/25 "Way" does not exist on signs 3 B 0/1 0/2 1/6 3/7 5/6 2/3 11/25 record RI 38/3 in space 3 (Klinger) 38 B 0/1 1/2 3/6 6/7 5/6 3/3 18/25 also record RI 38/3 in space 38/3 37 B 0/1 0/2 5/6 7/7 6/6 3/3 21/25 do RI 37 after RI 38/3 (Klinger) 39 C 0/1 0/2 2/6 3/7 4/6 3/3 12/25 valid RI 39 on Supp/SI page H 18 1/1 0/2 3/6 1/7 2/6 0/3 7/25 partial: on-course CM H 1 0/1 0/2 3/6 5/7 1/6 3/3 12/25 full: record as H 1 (Klinger) * A big THANK YOU to everyone who made this rallye possible: Bill Jonesi and Cris Wendt who prechecked; Cris Wendt who worked the checkpoint; Nancy Hanna and Steve Watt, who printed the rallye materials; Nick and Teresa Stefanisko, our illustrious awards committee, who also worked registration; and All of you!
