We discovered that it was, indeed, a lot of fun but it was also a lot of work and barely-controlled chaos. (Our rallye title turned out to be hauntingly accurate.) But, with the great support of other Rallye Club members, we were able to do it! From this experience we've learned many things, not least of which is that you should choose a neighborhood with stickier poles. We received some questions about the costumes and our furry rallye theme. Our group likes animal characters so it seemed a natural choice of theme for our first rallye event. We also had the costumes and performers available to us, since we're part of a loosely affiliated group that does charity work, parades, and other appearances. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_fandom for more background.) Shameless plug: If you enjoyed the costumed critters at the CP, and might be interested in mascot construction and/or performance, check out rallyemaster Adam's book "Critter Costuming", which features some of our rallye's characters. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0967817072/) -- Adam Riggs, Beth Riggs, and Brian Underwood, rallyemasters Thanks to: * Bill Jonesi for mentoring, prechecking, and working the checkpoint * Abby for working the checkpoint * Nick and Teresa Stefanisko for prechecking, par plaques, and awards * Steve Watt & Nancy Hanna for running registration and coordinating equipment, supplies, and printing. * Special Guest Critters Jimmy Chin (the dog) and Tony DiMatio (the mouse) Adam Riggs as the racoon * Everyone who came out and participated! There was a typo in the critique, so the original top score was 990. With the protest resolutions, it dropped to 970. The protests: * CM TB43 was not scored because it was down; therefore max score is 970 * CP 7 was granted to all cars Thanks again to everyone who participated and willingly endured our minor newbie transgressions. We hope you had as much fun as we did. If you enjoy rallying, tell a friend about it! Next TRC Rallye: TRC's 24th Birthday Party, February 5, 2004
